Benjamin Otto Ortega-Morales
Benjamín Otto Ortega Morales is a marine biologist, holding a Ph. D. in microbiology from University of Brest, France, 1999. Full-time permanent Professor of Environmental Microbiology and founder and former director of Center of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, Universidad Autónoma de Campeche, Mexico. He has been visiting scientist at FAL, Germany, CINVESTAV Unidad Mérida and Universidad National of Mexico (UNAM) Campus Yucatán. He holds a position of full-time professor and chair of academy and social partnerships. He has supervised 20 bachelor’s in science thesis projects and over 10 graduate (master and Ph. D.) theses. His research interest include biofilms and biodeterioration, marine biofilms and biotechnology of microbial molecules. He has served as international reviewer of several international research agencies from USA, Mexico, Panamá, Argentine, Peru, Chile, Austria, Poland, among others.
