Dr. Durgesh Kumar Jaiswal serves as an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Biosciences at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, India. He is an emerging expert in plant-microbe interaction and sustainable agriculture, with a deep understanding of the fundamental and cutting-edge aspects of microbial biotechnology. His research work emphasises achieving SDGs 2.2, 2.3, 3.8, and 15.1 at the regional level by harnessing the microbial ecosystem/crop microbiomes and engineering the microbial consortium to unlock various applications like improvement of crop growth or yields soil health, management of biotic and abiotic stress; and revitalisation of contaminated agricultural lands and also lignocellulose-degradation to biofuel production. Dr. Jaiswal has received prestigious fellowships and awards, including the Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship and the ASM-Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship, as well as recognition as an AMI Global Ambassador for India. He has published over 68 research articles and review papers in leading journals, with more than 2,700 citations and an H-index of 22. Dr. Jaiswal actively serves on the editorial boards of several international journals.
