Bashir Rumah
Awarded a full scholarship from Nigeria PTDF (Petroleum Technology Development Fund), Bashir joined the Synthetic Biology Research Centre in Nottingham, and pursued a PhD in Molecular Microbiology working on the development of genetic tools in Methanotrophs for the production of renewable chemicals. Having successfully defended his PhD thesis in 2018, Bashir is currently a postdoctoral research fellow a the same research group in the University of Nottingham, working on high-value chemical production from one-carbon feedstocks. He has nine years of experience working with Methanotrophs, and is interested in exploiting the commercial value of Methanotroph biotechnology.
