
Manuel Sánchez-Angulo
Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Production and Microbiology at Miguel Hernández University (UMH), where he teaches in the Biotechnology degree program and has carried out various activities in the fields of education, teaching innovation, and science communication. His line of research focuses on the development of new antibacterial agents against the pathogens Streptococcus pneumoniae and S. mutans.
He is a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Society for Microbiology (SEM), where he is responsible for the institution’s website and social media. He also manages the science outreach blog “Curiosidades de la Microbiología” (Microbial Curiosities), the section “El Biofilm” dedicated to discussing microbiology-related films in the SEM monthly bulletin, and the science communication radio program “Contraste de fases* (Phase Contrast) broadcast on Radio UMH.
