It’s time to have your say! Applied Microbiology International (AMI) is calling on all members to vote in the Trustee election after receiving record nominations.

Voting has just opened for the AMI Trustee election. The successful individual will join our team as an Elected Trustee on the AMI Board from September 2026, for a three year term of office.
Every vote counts in shaping the future of AMI. Members are encouraged to use their votes to select whoever they think should become the newest AMI trustee.
All AMI members have now received an email from Civica (the company we have partnered with to conduct our elections for 2026), which explains how to vote. Check your inbox for the email, which has been sent by takepart@cesvotes.com.
The poll will close on Wednesday 17 June 2026 at 5pm and the results will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on 10 September.
Our Trustees
Our Trustees play a vital role and are responsible for governing AMI; directing how it is managed and run.
The Board of Trustees is AMI’s governing body, which comprises 13 trustees, each of whom are responsible for the successful running of the organisation. The Board meets three times a year and plays a vital role in making sure that AMI achieves its core purpose.
The Trustees work with the Chief Executive to set the charity’s strategic direction and provide oversight. They are ultimately responsible for safeguarding all AMI assets and ensuring these are used to achieve the organisation’s charitable aims. The Trustees also support and challenge the senior leadership team to enable AMI to grow and thrive.
Voting in the election is a crucial opportunity for members to have their say on how the organisation is run. By voting for individuals to become a trustee, members are selecting people who will collaborate with other trustees on strategic decision-making, ensuring the success of AMI.
